Procedures for the Construction of Dental Prosthetics - Combined Prosthetics

Ideally, a baseplate of the occlusal records would be set up before carving, unless following the carving the occlusion is fixed or it could be resolved by using conventional wax.

Impressions are taken for the construction of fixed prosthetics , to be tried in casts for subsequent impressions for the construction of removable prosthetics with attachments. These impressions shall be preferably be made with alginate. In our opinion, this is the most reliable impression-taking method for Prosthetics removable prosthetics

On receipt of the impression in alginate of the fixed prosthetics, the process of constructing the removable rim can start, which having maintained its record can be sent with metal frame and trial of acrylic teeth .

Once the accuracy of the adjustment, occlusion, esthetics, etc, has been ascertained, we can proceed to the final step, always having in mind the patient's ultimate fitting. It is of upmost importance that the cementation of the fixed prosthetics takes place in the same position as the removable, In order to achieve this we recommend that this process is done with both elements at the same time, to avoid any possible discrepancies, which may occur if performed separately.
