Protesis, S.A. currently advantages from the most advanced laboratory solutions in relation to zirconium systems, we posses various options to mechanise zirconium including CAD and CAD- CAM. Our highly technological practices place us at the very top of the trade.

These systems, which are developed through zirconium oxide enable stability in the oxidation process, strength and resistance to fractures, benefits which were previously unheard of , after working with materials such as alumina, glass-infiltrated zirconium or lithium silicate. Besides, as the material is structurally ceramic, it achieves an exceptional esthetic, an ideal adjustment and excellent periodontal hygiene.

Advantages:

  • High resistance: Thanks to its attributes, Zirconium oxide enables crowns and bridges to reach a level of resistance strength much superior to any other material on the market, including metal.
  • Maximum esthetics: Zirconium oxide, developed though either CAD or CAD-CAM, affords restorations with long-lasting esthetics, natural-looking effects and translucency, results which are extremely difficult to achieve with any other materials. In addition, its biocompatibility assures restorations of both anterior and posterior teeth with an outstanding finish.

Contraindications:

  • At a professional level the CAD-CAM system does not take a reliable scan in cases where its shaping results in angled edges. The CAD systems could compensate some of the angles however the result would not be 100% reliable.
  • Reticular pins and adhesive bridges.
  • In cases of hipersensibility to zirconium oxide.
  • Bridges exceeding 38mm, to avoid loosing any of the features mentioned above in substantial restorations, it is desirable that they do not in fact exceed this measure, yet it is possible to have various bridges in substantial restorations and even a full arch.

Cementation:

  • Seek the advice of your regular supplier regarding specific cements for Zirconium restorations. It is important to indicate that adhesive bondings are not suitable for conventional cementation technics.
